Great way to explore Mendocino mountain wines
From Craig Thompson of Los Altos, California on .
We discovered Alder Springs Syrah paired with lamb shoulder confit at the Harbor House Inn south of Mendocino and immediately needed to know more. I would liken it to a modern expression of Cote Rotie. Wonderful! The sample pack is a great way to get to know Alder Springs.
Subtle, Elegant, and Supremely Satisfying
From Scott Pomfret of Boston, Massachusetts on .
This selection of various wines, a mix of blends and single varietals, is outstanding. I am not generally a fan of a heavy California style, and these higher elevation wines drink like something European--lithe, elegant, nuanced, with fruit that is integrated rather than featured. I have not yet tried all the blends, but the pinot noir and chardonnay are particularly outstanding.
